The Bigga Academy

In conjunction with the Tower Hamlets HUB 

Creative, media & enterprise skills programme
Perfect for young people looking for accreditation through a creatively based process
Support career progression into creative industries

The Bigga academy is now in its third year being commissioned by the Tower Hamlets HUB. We provide an alternative and supplementary education provision for young people aged 14-21. The programme is available for those who are enrolled on the school register and those considered as Not in Employment, Education or Training  (NEET)
The course delivers a dynamic and engaging curriculum of skills and development centered around gaining experience and career progression within the creative industries

Delivered over the school year, Monday & Wednesday (Yr11) Tuesday & Thursday (Yr10) the Bigga Academy is National Open College Network accredited and the course is part of the foundation learning tier. The curriculum includes

  • Theory and hands on experience in music production, web design, graphic design, film production, events management, DJing and MCing
  • Group and individual projects within the local community with industry partners
  • Throughout the programme a range of industry professionals and celebrity guest speakers in attendance
  • Career development and identification of further progression routes including ILP’s for access into further education
  • Opportunities to participate in extra curricular activities with Bigga Fish and partners 

All Bigga Fish programmes aim to motivate and develop and empower young people. There is a particular emphasis on soft  skills such as confidence, communication and team working. Places are available throughout the year

The Bigga Bloco!

The Bigga Bloco is inspired by the Brazillan cultural warriors Afroreggae. The Bloco! is an opportunity for people to be part of a fantastic drumming group led by leading facilitators. The Bloco! learn drumming and performance technique/skills in a friendly and socially uplifting environment and perform at various Festivals and Bigga Fish events. \

WE ARE RECRUITING.

We are currently running 2 ongoing Bloco! workshops at

143 Mare Street, Hackney, E8 3RH- Saturdays from 12-3pm

Tavistock Hall, 25 High Street, Harlesden, NW10 from 5-7pm
